Protect Your Loved Ones Before They Travel

Protect your parents, family members, and loved ones visiting the USA. A single medical emergency can cost $100,000+ in the US — don’t let a visit become a financial catastrophe.

Important: US healthcare is among the most expensive in the world. An ER visit costs $2,000–$8,000. A hospital stay averages $15,000–$40,000 per day. A heart attack can easily exceed $150,000. Visitor insurance is not optional — it's essential.

Why Visitor Insurance?

Your Parents Deserve Protection — Not Financial Risk

When family visits the United States from Canada or any other country — whether for a few weeks or several months — they enter a healthcare system where medical care can be extremely expensive for visitors.

Canadian provincial health plans may offer limited emergency reimbursement outside Canada, but they usually do not fully cover U.S. medical bills. That’s why visitor medical insurance is important before travel begins.

With strong USA and Canada insurance guidance, we help families arrange proper visitor coverage so trips can be comfortable, protected, and stress-free.

  • Coverage from Day 1 — same-day options available
  • Plans for eligible pre-existing medical conditions
  • Coverage for short visits and extended stays

Special Note for Canadian Visitors

Many Canadian families assume provincial health insurance covers their parents during US visits. It does not — or covers only a very small emergency benefit that is far below actual US medical costs.

As cross-border specialists licensed in both the US and connected to our Canadian agency, we understand your parents' specific health situations and help you choose a plan that genuinely protects them. We speak Punjabi, Hindi, and English — and we're available when you need us.

Common Questions

Visitor Insurance FAQs

When should I buy visitor insurance?
Ideally before your parents leave their home country — or at minimum, before they arrive in the USA. Some policies have a waiting period for non-emergency conditions. Same-day coverage is available for emergencies if purchased before any symptoms arise.
Can I get coverage for a parent with pre-existing conditions?
Yes — many carriers offer plans that cover pre-existing conditions, either with a waiting period (typically 0–5 days for sudden and unforeseen complications) or with full coverage after a stability period. We'll help you find the best option for your parent's specific health situation.
How much coverage should I get?
We recommend a minimum of $100,000 in coverage, with $150,000–$300,000 being more appropriate for older visitors. Medical costs in the US are extremely high — a single hospitalization can easily exceed $50,000. Don't skimp on coverage limits.
Is visitor insurance required to obtain a US visa?
US tourist visas (B1/B2) do not legally require travel insurance — but some countries with Schengen visa requirements do mandate it. However, we strongly recommend it regardless of legal requirements, given US healthcare costs.
